Sean Christopher Adams received a 175-month sentence, or more than 14.5 years, said the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Authorities said they learned from a "cooperating individual" that Adams was selling meth and instructed the information to set up a purchase. Adams was arrested in a Buckhannon after investigators said they watched him sell the informant the drugs.

Officials seized $14,000 cash and a one-pound bag of meth during the arrest, prosecutors said.

Adams will also serve eight years of supervised release after completing his sentence, they added.
